the body still sleep-warm,
 
curled around the heart newborn,
 
half-formed in pull of moonlight through window,
 
slim, pale,
 
soothing me with your erasure.
 
behind you -
 
the body unbearable,
 
doe through glass,
 
asphalt, still wondrous,
 
the quiet between us a storm of body, broken,
 
dripping at the seams.
